For the first time ever, Arda Wigs Canada is bringing Iron Wig to you LIVE before your very eyes during Anime North 2018!  

We're excited to announce that we will be bringing this fantastic (and fun!) competition to Anime North, Canada's premier fan-run Anime convention! Located at the Toronto Congress Centre from May 25th-27th, 2018, 2:30pm-5pm. 

How it Works: 

Eight (8) contestants will have two (2) hours to construct a styled wig using the products provided, following a pre-determined theme. The competition will then be judged by a panel of experienced wig stylists/cosplayers (TBA!) and will be hosted by Master cosplayer and Arda Wigmancer, Ali Mahou!  

*In the event that a contestant does not arrive on time, a volunteer wild card will be chosen from the audience to compete!

Theme: "Trending in Tokyo!" Get inspired by Japanese street fashion! Harajuku? Decora? Lolita? J-Pop? Visual Kei? Pick your favourite, or combine these iconic styles to create something fresh! 

Contestants will be have a selection of styling supplies to choose from including heat styling tools, Got2B Glued Blasting Freeze Spray, a foam head, a table clamp wig stand, wefting supplies, scissors, bobby pins, and alligator clips. Each contestant will receive the same wig and section of weft to construct their style.

*Contestants are welcome to bring extra hair clips for the sole purpose of holding hair which cannot be used in the final style. 

There will also be a ~MYSTERY GRAB TABLE~ where contestants will have 30 seconds to grab up to 3 miscellaneous items to use in their final style!  

Prizes!

Just for competing, all contestants get to take home their newly styled wig and the foam head!

Competition Rules

Impress us with a portfolio of work showing off your range of abilities. Your entries can consist of wigs from any brand, not just Arda. Please try to keep your entries concise; the minimum is 3, but no more than 5 examples please! If you have multiple photos of a single wig example, we recommend combining them into a collage.

All entrants must be attending Anime North in Toronto at the TCC on Sunday May 27th and have purchased their own badges/passes to the convention. Contestants from Iron Wig (Arda Wigs USA) 2013-2017 (excluding 1st place winners) are welcome to submit a portfolio and apply if they’d like to compete in this specific Iron Wig Live (Canadian) competition. Entrants do NOT need to be Canadian citizens.

Deadline for entries is THURSDAY, MAY 24th, 2018 at 11:59pm. A total of 8 stylists will be selected by the Arda Canada team and announced by May 25th.  (Not sure you can make it until the day of? Show up in our audience and you could get a spot!)
